It marks the retailer’s first Black and women-owned company within the prestige scent category. “Ulta Beauty will bring significant value to our brand, because it will help us expand brand visibility, also retail credibility and trust, and it’ll help us expand customer reach, driving sales and accessibility, and increase our marketing and promotional support,” commented Morgan.

Results of a European paper investigating the impact of women’s inclusion in executive committees on financial performance has been published at the Springer Nature Link website. Spanning large European corporations from 2015 to 2022, researchers found that “although the representation of women on corporate boards has increased in many countries, the next challenge is to achieve comparable progress in top executive roles.”

In other female leadership news, India’s Union Minister Jitendra Singh believes the country’s women-led startups are making a global mark, according to the KNN website in India. “Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Monday highlighted the significant strides made by women-led startups in India, stating that they are leaving a global imprint across various sectors, including the traditionally male-dominated space industry,” the article reports.

And in market news, Puig has reported a 14.3% increase in Q4 sales, exceeding analyst forecasts for the holiday period, and Sanofi has bought back 2.3% of its shares from L’Oréal. Meanwhile, Kohl’s, which stocks Sephora products, has announced that it is cutting its corporate workforce by 10%, saying that most of the cuts affect open positions and current associates.
