Beloved hair colorist Louis Licari began his career as a painter. Trained in the art as a young child, he continued his studies, earning a degree from Syracuse University. After moving to New York City, he became interested in the world of fashion and beauty and started career as a shampoo boy at the A list New York Pierre Michel salon.
Licari was drawn to the color department and applied his artistic skills to hair and soon became an in-demand colorist. Louis open his first salon on Madison Avenue in 1981.
Today he is perhaps the hardest working colorist in the business, servicing a clientele that includes working woman, moms, style icons and Hollywood A-listers. Licari takes pride in providing all his clients with his undivided attention while he listens and assesses their color needs, painstakingly working to provide hair color that complements a woman’s face and skin tone, takes years off her age, and enhances her natural beauty. Licari works six days a week dividing his time between the Mizu Louis Licari Salon on Park Avenue, his salon Watermill, New York and now his newest pop up salon in Palm Beach Gardens.
Licari is a longstanding member of the Today Show family, where he appears weekly on the ever popular Ambush Makeover segment demonstrating the latest tips and trends he has garnered throughout his career. He is also a regular contributor on all things beauty for the Huffington Post and has been featured in countless fashion magazines for his beauty secrets.

Louis is about to debut his eponymous haircare line in Japan with the Cysay Corporation. The hair care line will focus on the health of the scalp which is the foundation of a healthy mane of hair. Expected launch date is in late summer 2022.
