At CEW today, we draw back the curtain on the 25 independent makeup brands to watch right now, in a new report, exclusive to members. “The wait is over,” writes Andrea Nagel. “CEW’s much anticipated Indie25 Report is now live, presenting the most promising brands generating under $10 million and the trends they are creating.”

Also at CEW, we report on the innovative way that DEINDE, the new DTC skin care range from brand incubator Debut Biotech, is targeting Zillennials with a new brand-awareness campaign. “Zillennials are roughly aged 26 to 35 and are thinking about preventing the early signs of aging and leveling up their skin care,” Dominique Gagnon, VP of Consumer Brands for Debut Biotech, told CEW reporter Genevieve Monsma. “They also over-index going to dermatologists and trust science-backed solutions. As a brand introducing inflammaging as the next big thing in skin health and skin-barrier management, we decided to target Zillennials because inflammaging really starts in your mid 20s.”

In executive news, Vasiliki Petrou, CEO of Unilever Prestige, has announced she is leaving the company after 10 years, to set up her own investment fund. Meanwhile, in hair care, Olaplex is celebrating its 10th anniversary with the launch of the Pro Collective. A team of 15 hair styling and coloring professionals will be on a mission to boost Olaplex’s industry presence at special events, including meet-ups and masterclasses.

On the makeup front, Victoria Beckham continues her self-confessed “brow obsession” with the launch today of the new Featherfix Brow Gel. The waterproof, long wear formula comes in a choice of five color options, including Crystal Clear. It drops today at VictoriaBeckhamBeauty.com. Meanwhile, Makeup by Mario, founded by Mario Dedivanovic, is reported to be working with J.P. Morgan to consider investment options.

In tech, Chanel will be the first prestige fragrance company to “activate” on the Las Vegas Sphere, beginning Friday, June 21 to Thursday, June 27. And in social media news, the U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. Vivek Murthy, announced yesterday that he would push for social media platforms to be given a warning label to advise parents of their mental health risk to adolescents.
