In breaking news, Macy’s has unveiled its newly renovated Beauty Floor at its Herald Square flagship store. “The landmarked location will dedicate more than 50,000 square feet to its beauty offering when the renovation’s second phase concludes in 2026,” reveals WWD, in an exclusive report. The makeover will be completed in 2026, when the second phase of the project is concluded.  “We will have almost 54,000 square feet of beauty,” said Nicolette Bosco, Vice President and Divisional Merchandise Manager for Beauty, Macy’s.

Shiseido has announced its 2030 Medium-Term Strategy, “targeting an operating profit margin above 10% and average annual sales growth of 2–5% above market levels by the end of the decade,” according to Global Cosmetics News. In addition, the company has appointed Alberto Noe CEO of the Americas Region, while continuing in his current role as CEO of EMEA. Kentaro Fujiwara will remain in his position as President and CEO, and Ayako Hirofuji continues as CFO.

In female leadership news, Forbes reports that women of color entrepreneurs are turning to crowdfunding as a way of pursuing their business goals, rather than venture capital (VC). “Access to funding remains a structural barrier. Traditional capital paths, like bank loans and venture capital (VC), have long favored established networks and dominant demographics,” reports forbes.com. “While grants offer debt-free support, and less than 2% of VC funding reaches female founders, a different path is gaining traction among us: crowdfunding.”

On the tech front, four start-up businesses from Australia, India, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have been announced as the winners of L’Oréal‘s 2025 SAPMENA Big Bang Beauty Tech Innovation Program. The initiative is the largest open innovation competition of its kind in the South Asia Pacific, Middle East, and North Africa (SAPMENA) region. Meanwhile, in other tech news, Beauty Matter reports on the emerging trend for LED devices that target the hands. “Advanced light therapy treatments specifically targeting the hands have become an area of new product development for technology and body care brands over the past year,” it reveals.
