In breaking executive news this morning, Tenille Kopiasz has been named CEO of Chantecaille. Kopiasz, most recently CEO of Blue Mistral overseeing the portfolio companies FEKKAI and Bastide of Cornell Capital, has more than 25 years of beauty marketing experience across prestige, designer and mass brands.
In other executive moves, Arnaud Autret has been appointed Investment Director for Business Opportunities for L’Oréal Development (BOLD), the company’s venture capital arm. In his new role, the Paris-based Autret will oversee European startup investments. The news from L’Oréal Group continues with the French fashion house Mugler making a bold splash back into cosmetics, with the launch of a limited-edition range of nine products, in partnership with L’Oréal Paris. The line-up will drop in the U.S., China, Europe, Latin America, and Africa. Meanwhile, the L’Oréal Luxe division is bringing its eco-minded, refillable fragrance pillars — an initiative which has been carried out in Europe, and elsewhere — to the U.S., at four Dillard’s locations.

In sun care, more sunscreen brands are pressing pause on the sale of certain products in Australia, following concerns about adequate SPF levels. “Outside Beauty & Skincare, Aspect, Found My Skin and Endota are the latest companies to act after an investigation by the Australian consumer watchdog Choice brought the issue to light,” reports Cosmetics Business. Meanwhile, gel nail polishes containing the chemical trimethylbenzoyl diphenylphosphine oxide (TPO) have been banned in Europe, “due to a possible link to fertility problems based on animal studies,” according to Today. The ban comes into force on September 1, 2025.
