VIP rooms are all the rage, and the hottest one in town—in beauty, that is—is the space at DreamDry, the blow-out-only spot co-founded by celebrity stylist, Rachel Zoe, and marketer, Robin Moraetes. DreamDry, which is located at 35 West 21st Street in the Flatiron District, opened on February 14 and features a VIP room equipped with four styling stations, allowing for as many blowouts to be performed simultaneously. The VIP room is for private events exclusively, said Robin, who also serves as CEO of DreamDry, and will cost $500 for 90 minutes, allowing for 8 blowouts in total, including complimentary champagne and Fiji water. DreamDry can also customize the space according to specific needs with catering, manicure and makeup services, for an extra fee. Typically, blowouts cost $40 apiece. And, like the rest of the establishment, the VIP room uses Oribe hair care products and styles are selected from an electronic menu on salon-supplied iPads. Differentiating DreamDry from the pack of blowout salons bursting onto the scene is its creation of a dossier for each client, documenting their service with a photo and weather conditions the day of their blowout. Clients can later add notes, such as how long their style lasted.
