At CEW today, Jenny Belknap, SVP Enterprise Marketing & Portfolio Strategy, North America at The Estée Lauder Companies, shares her extraordinary career story, starting from her early days as a marketing intern in skin care. “That was the moment I really started to see what I wanted my path to be: working on an integrated marketing team, learning how products were created, and bringing them to market,” she recalls. Over the years, Belknap, a devoted working mother to her teenage son, have included marketing and transformation leader, general manager, mentor, and DE&I advocate. “I am a part of an amazing legacy,” at ELC, she reflects. “Being a part of this rich heritage, as well as a part of an industry that is transforming how people show up, feel, and experience beauty, is an honor and privilege.” 

Belknap will be one of nine inspirational women in beauty honored at CEW’s upcoming 2024 Achiever Awards, taking place on April 25 in New York City.

In financial news, Ulta Beauty has reported a slower start to the first two months of fiscal 2024, causing its share price to fall 15% Wednesday. Meanwhile, Boots — the U.K.’s largest health and beauty retailer — has seen in-store and online sales growth for the quarter ending February 29, 2024. The company saw one million new members sign-up to the Boots Advantage Card customer loyalty program last year. 

Turning to consumer trends, WGSN has launched a TikTok Analytics tool, designed to identify the origin of viral trends, assess their longevity and help brands to leverage them to maximum effect. Meanwhile, Japan’s leading herbal skin care brand, Sekkisei, has launched an online storefront at Amazon US. Bestsellers include the Sekkisei Herbal Gel, Lotion, and Emulsion. “The brand is gaining a great deal of momentum in the US beauty market segment,” said Sharon del Valle, General Manager, Kosé America. “Amazon will help accelerate the growth even more with its broad reach and appeal.”
