Featuring eight original supermodels — Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Amber Valletta, Shalom Harlow, Carolyn Murphy, Imaan Hammam, Karlie Kloss, and Liya Kebede — the campaign was shot by Annie Leibovitz in a Brooklyn warehouse. Along with the new clothing collection, the brand’s website showcases the Cashmere Collection of fragrances, inspired by the iconic Cashmere Mist. The campaign rolls out across social media today.
Riding the wave of the successful first Cosmoprof Miami, CEW reports on the mainstreaming of professional skin care highlighted at the inaugural event held at the Miami Beach Convention Center last month. “Several themes caught our attention,” said Ashley Helgans, Equity Analyst for Jefferies, to Faye Brookman. “Beauty remains resilient, fragrance is becoming an active ingredients tool, and brands are shifting their focus to Gen Alpha shoppers who prioritize packaging and presentation.”
Speaking of skin care, British brand Elemis will arrive in U.S. Sephora stores later this month. “We are thrilled to partner with Elemis and introduce our clients to their line of effective, collagen-supporting formulas,” commented Brooke Banwart, Sephora’s Senior Vice President of skin care merchandising. “Our clients value innovative brands with responsible formulation, and Elemis delivers on that with its holistic approach to skin health.” Sephora will stock bestsellers including the Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balms. Meanwhile, sustainable skin care brand Costa Brazil is making a comeback. Founder Francisco Costa is relaunching the range, after Amyris’ bankruptcy, which will be available to buy today.
In executive news, L’Oréal Groupe has announced that its Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer, Alexandra Palt, is leaving the company. “I would like to thank Alexandra for her engagement, which over the past 12 years has triggered a profound transformation of L’Oréal’s economic and societal model, deeply integrated with planetary boundaries as defined by environmental sciences,” said Nicolas Hieronimus, L’Oréal Groupe’s Chief Executive Officer.
In financial news, Unilever’s net profit has decreased by 13.7% in fiscal 2023, but saw double-digit growth in its Prestige Beauty and Health & Wellbeing category, which now accounts for a quarter of its Beauty & Wellbeing turnover. Meanwhile, Coty Inc — license-holders of fragrances by Burberry, Gucci, Marc Jacobs, and Davidoff — beat Wall Street forecasts in Q2, with net revenues of $1.73 billion in the second quarter of fiscal year 2024. The Kering Group reported a fall in revenues of 6% in Q4 2023. “The launch of Kering Beauté and the acquisition of Creed, a storied maker of high-end fragrances, will enable us to capture our share of the steadily growing beauty market,” said François-Henri Pinault, its Chairman and CEO.
