The Los Angeles-based online beauty e-tailer Violet Grey — founded by Cassandra Grey in 2012 — is now up for sale, it’s been revealed. Having bought the company last year, Farfetch is now selling the luxury digital shopping destination, which is renowned for its insider curation of brands ranging from Chanel to Augustinus Bader.

In other beauty news, yesterday L’Oréal announced that it is partnering with Ingenuity, the commerce division of THG (previously called The Hut Group, which owns Cult Beauty, Look Fantastic and brands including Perricone MD), who will manage the Biotherm and Shu Uemura Art of Beauty brands in North America. “L’Oréal will benefit from core platform features built for the beauty consumer, including sampling, loyalty and subscriptions,” according to THG.

Beyou Cosmetics is proving that “masstige” brands can benefit from being sold through a range of channels. Due to be available in almost 1,000 Target locations in 2024 (an increase from 300), the colourfully-packaged product range is also sold at Anthropologie and online at Macy’s. (Beauty Independent)
