Anitra Marsh, Chief Communications Officer of P&G Beauty, keeps a “life lesson” on her phone that reminds her of her purpose: “My life mission is to build bridges and create connections — to bring happiness to the world.” Among the inspirational honorees of the 2024 Achiever Awards, Marsh shares her story with CEW today. “One of the best things about P&G is that it trains people how to think, process, and problem-solve,” reflects Marsh, who started out as a college intern at the company before landing a full-time position —working on an Olay launch — and working her way up at P&G over a career spanning 25 years. “The culture is one of inspiring growth and learning. We get things done by working with people and through teams. That’s something I really value.”

In breaking news, Dove is launching a new campaign, The Code, as a result of a new study that sheds light on the pressures women feel in conforming to modern, increasingly digitalized beauty ideals.  Among the findings is that “two in three believe that the modern-day woman is expected to be more physically attractive than her mother’s generation.” The campaign will be supported by a multi-generational cast of women, including Reba McEntire, Drew Barrymore, Beanie Feldstein, and Marsai Martin. “We seek a future in which women get to decide and declare what real beauty looks like – not algorithms,” said Dove’s Chief Marketing Officer, Alessandro Manfredi. “Pledging to never use AI in our communications is just one step. We will not stop until beauty is a source of happiness, not anxiety, for every woman and girl.”

Squeeze, the massage studio pioneered by the founder of Drybar, anticipates hitting $10 million in revenue this year and has announced plans to roll out 100-plus new locations. “The biggest differentiator is our technology,” said Brittany Driscoll, Squeeze’s Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer. “We’ve built out an end-to-end platform that enables the guests to book an appointment [and] set their personalized preferences all the way through to paying, rating, tipping, and reviewing at their leisure.” In other executive news, The Estée Lauder Companies has tapped Dexter King as Senior Vice President, Global General Manager for its Tom Ford Beauty brand. King will also join ELC’s Extended Executive Leadership Team.
