“The ultimate desirability of a luxury product is built from the first moment of awareness, across all touch points,” Charlotte Holman Ros, President of Christian Dior Parfums in North America, tells CEW today, sharing her insights into prestige beauty in the U.S., the legacy of Dior, and how the brand is looking to the future. Since she took over at the helm of strategic business and operations development in September 2020, the brand has seen extraordinary growth. According to Holman Ros, brick and mortar stores, more than ever, play a part in that—alongside e-commerce. “I think the role of the physical retail experience is only going to get more important,” she predicts. In other Dior news, the company has named Sarah Akram—a renowned, Washington, D.C.-based aesthetician—as Dior Beauty’s skin care expert and ambassador.

Also at CEW, we report on the launch of Garnier Fructis’ new, science-backed Hair Filler range. “We see ourselves as a green beauty brand with a premium scientific formula,” said Alexa Kimiabakhsh, Garnier’s Brand Marketing Manager. Last week’s launch celebration in Los Angeles was attended by brand ambassadors Charli D’Amelio and dermatologist Dr. Muneeb Shah.

In other breaking hair care news, Zara has unveiled its new Zara Everyday Basics product range, created in collaboration with veteran catwalk hair stylist Guido Palau. The colorful line-up includes a Hair Spray, Dry Texturizing Spray, Volumizing Mousse, Hair Balm, Curl Activator and Blow Dry Spray.

Creator of The Skinny Confidential beauty tools, such as the Hot Mess Ice Roller, Lauryn Bosstick’s new Mouth Tape has sold out twice since it dropped since last month. The pink tape is designed to encourage nasal breathing and, she maintains, improved sleep and a more defined jaw line.

In retail news, JLo Beauty is reported to be leaving Sephora stores in the U.S., while German beauty retailer the Douglas Group has announced a planned public listing on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. It hopes to raise €800m through the first IPO, within the first quarter.
