Vegan nail lacquer brand Pear Nova has partnered with the hit TNT TV series “Claws,” on a nail polish collection inspired by the series. The range is a nod to the show’s dark comedic take on South Florida nail culture.

The collaboration features five nail lacquers created by Pear Nova founder and CEO Rachel James. The new shades launched this week and are available to purchase on pearnova.com ahead of the two-hour premiere of the fourth and final season of “Claws” on December 19th. The Claws x Pear Nova collection retails for $50 as a set; individual shades retail for $13.50 each.

“This capsule collection is proof that no dream is out of reach when we believe. So, to all the dreamers, hustlers, artists, creators and queens—this collection is for you,” said Rachel. The Claws x Pear Nova collection includes Beaucoup Bougie, a vivid violet crème; Clique Bait, a bold teal crème; Pink Collar Crime, a bright fuchsia crème; Hustle + Glow, a bronze holographic glitter; and High-Rollers, a glowing yellow crème.

A longtime “Claws” fan, which stars Niecy Nash, Carrie Preston, Judy Reyes, Jenn Lyon, and Karrueche Tran, Rachel’s passion for nail art and culture began when she worked with numerous manicurists in her hometown of Chicago, Illinois. Rachel opened Pear Nova Studio in 2019, with a goal to have it be a nail salon and beauty lounge to bridge the gap between beauty and community—with a focus on luxury services and a space for artistic creativity. We caught up with Rachel to learn more about the inspiration behind the collaboration, which shades will be the hero of the collection, and more.

Beauty News: How did this collaboration come to be?

Rachel James: We were contacted by the “Claws” TNT team to create a custom nail shade collection for the final season. It was the perfect fit for Pear Nova so we immediately got to work to develop shades, packaging, nail art and images that merged the “Claws” + Pear Nova worlds together.

BN: When did you start watching the show? What do you love about it?

RJ: I started watching the show in 2017 when the first season aired. I was initially just excited to see a series surrounding a nail shop but ended up falling in love with the women on the show and what they represented—dreamers, hustlers, creatives, and queens.

BN: How will you be marketing this collection?

RJ: We’re teaming up with some of our favorite nail artists to create different styles of nail art to show that the possibilities are endless with this collection. Look out for giveaways via @pearnova and @clawstnt on Instagram.

BN: Which shades do you think will be hero products?

RJ: Pink Collar Crime and Hustle + Glow because who doesn’t love a bright pink and a nude glitter?
