The CEW Cheat Sheet lets you conveniently scroll through the morning’s biggest beauty, tech, and business-related headlines all in one place. Stay up-to-date on major acquisitions and industry moves; learn about brand launches and biotech innovations; and read through investigative reports on the state of the market or our new working norm.

This month’s social media beauty trends are shaping up to be a mix of nostalgic, extremist, and futuristic. In an exclusive report for CEW, ViralMoment offers up a must-read list of trends curated by teletracking expert Chelsie Hall, pointing out the products, companies, and creators making the biggest impact right now. Among those stealing the show are Hailey Bieber’s Sugar Plum Fairy viral make-up trend, as well as a throwback to Nineties nostalgia with looks inspired by the decade’s all important extreme eyebrows and more. Devotees of lip glosses and oils will be happy to know that influencers have not yet tired of puckering up to highly glazed lip looks, so prepare to shine on.

Pinterest, meanwhile, has published its annual Pinterest Predicts report. Drawing on search data from its 482 million monthly users, amongst the beauty and wellness predictions are “Blue Beauty” (think blue eyeshadow, nails, and more), luxury body care, and at-home spa experiences.

According to CreatorIQ, L’Oréal is leading the way on social media, with a trail-blazing rapid earned media value growth across its skin care (45%), hair care (29%), and make-up (23%) categories. In indie beauty, meanwhile, Kline and NIQ have identified a roster of brands potential investors should have in their sights. In their U.S. Analysis of Brands to Watch, among those ripe for approach, according to the research companies, are Jones Road, OSEA, and Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty (which expands into body care this week).

And while we don’t have a crystal ball, next year is looking peachy for the beauty world, following Pantone’s big reveal last week of its Color of the Year 2024, Peach Fuzz 13-1023. In collaboration with Pantone, Shades By Shan—a female-founded make-up brand supporting single parents in need—has launched The Lip Shine, a limited-edition gloss. More products are due to drop next year, inspired by the shade of peach described as “radiant with warmth and a modern elegance,” according to Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute.
