Michael Smith has joined the The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. in the role of Senior Vice President, Global Information Services (GIS) and Chief Information Officer, effective August 28. Michael reports to Tracey T. Travis, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Prior to his new role, Michael served as Chief Executive Officer at Boma Technologies, a technology consulting company he founded, specializing in technology and management advisement for the sports, life sciences and technologies industries. He also spent 22 years with Nike, Inc. in multiple brand and technology roles, and four years with Mylan NV, a global pharmaceuticals company, where he was Global Head of Digital and Innovation and Global Business Services.

Leveraging his vast experience, Mr. Smith will further advance innovation in IT applications and infrastructure to support and enable Estée Lauder’s growth strategy and the evolving needs of its brands and business. Additionally, he will focus on driving global technology solutions in key strategic areas for the company including retail, digital, social and analytics.
