Luxury Society, the online news site from Digital Luxury Group, has released a list of 10 luxury brands embracing software and technology for the first half of 2017. Making the list is Shiseido, due to the introduction of humanoid robots on its assembly lines, a first for a cosmetics company. The robots work in collaboration with humans to assemble various parts and deliver finished products. Also on the list is Sephora’s Virtual Artist app, which helps consumers virtually try on products on selfies using an augmented reality (AR)-based technology developed by ModiFace. Estée Lauder is also featured for its use of ModiFace’s automatic facial analysis technology to give consumers the ability to view how products will look on their faces live or on photos when browsing the website.
